Service Technician

Jacob is a natural-born problem solver who loves the puzzle of getting things to work and fit together. And that’s perfect, as one of his main responsibilities as a service technician is to assemble and wire our new machines. A fitter and turner by trade, Jacob has a practical skillset that’s integral to the SED Graders team.

For Jacob, SED Graders is a great place to work because the team members really look out for each other, plus he feels that new ideas are always listened to.

“If we have a problem or something that needs working on, the team is always there to help,” says Jacob. “If we can see a way to improve our machines, Matthew is always ready to listen to ideas.”

Getting out and meeting the oyster farmers is a part of Jacob’s role that he really values. He is skilled at commissioning, installing and training farmers and their workers on how to run the machines.

Jacob also loves the opportunity to call in on producers who have been using the equipment for some time, to see how they are progressing.

In his spare time, Jacob loves being out on the water fishing or waterskiing, but he admits there’s not much time for outdoor sports at the moment as he’s just welcomed a new baby into his young family.
